In this article we give you the recipe to prepare a homemade cocoa cream with natural, nutritious and healthy ingredients. And its flavor has nothing to envy to any other conventional spreadable cream.

Although they sell us cocoa cream as a very nutritious food, the truth is that this product contains a high percentage of sugar and unhealthy fats, derived from low-quality vegetable oils.

  • These ingredients cause imbalances in the body that can aggravate our levels of cholesterol, sugar and triglycerides in the blood.
  • In addition, they can promote weight gain and tooth decay problems.

Next, we are going to replace these unhealthy ingredients with others that not only do not affect us in a negative way, but are rich in nutrients.

Sugar, especially the one that is refined white, does not contain any nutrients and, in addition, acidifies and decalcifies our body. For this reason we must look for other types of natural sweeteners for our recipes:

    This delicious and healthy homemade cocoa cream is free of sugar and lactose. It also does not contain additives or other ingredients added beyond the essentials.

    Thanks to its cocoa and hazelnut content, it is a food that fills us with energy and vitality.

    Ingredients

    • 5 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil (75 g)
    • 3 tablespoons of toasted and finely ground hazelnuts (21 g)
    • 5 tablespoons of pure cocoa powder (50 g)
    • 3 tablespoons of purified liquid stevia, unflavored (30 ml)
    • A few drops of vanilla extract.

    Note: The ingredients of this recipe are indicative, since we can modify it according to our tastes. If we want it more liquid and creamy we will add more oil, while if we want it thick we will increase the cocoa or hazelnut.

    Preparation

    • In case we do not have the ground hazelnuts, we can do it ourselves with a grinder or food processor. We will grind them for several minutes to get an almost spreadable texture.
    • If the ambient temperature is below 23 ÂșC we will have to heat the coconut oil a little in a water bath, since it will have solidified.
    • In a suitable container we will add the ground hazelnuts, the coconut oil and the rest of the ingredients and we will mix well until obtaining a homogeneous cream.
    • Our homemade cocoa cream is ready.

    We can achieve different touches of flavor if we make a few small changes to this recipe:

    • If we want to give it a spicy touch we can add spices such as cinnamon, ginger or cayenne pepper.
    • To get a spreadable but crunchy texture, we can chop the hazelnuts into small pieces instead of grinding them.
    • We can substitute coconut oil for very ripe banana or avocado.
    • If we want a two-color cocoa cream, we can leave a part without cocoa, in which we would only mix the rest of the ingredients.

    We would thus obtain the typical brown and white mixed spreadable cream.

    •  We can add coconut cream or any other vegetable if the mixture is too strong.
    • We can store this homemade cream in small portions in the freezer, or even in the fridge, using an ice cube mold. Thus we will get some simple and whimsical chocolates.
