Prepare Some Delicious Sausage Snacks

Among the wide variety of sausages that exist, sausages are among the best known products. Their versatility allows to prepare delicious dishes that adapt to the taste of any diner. This is the case of the so-called sausage snacks, a versatile option that is also easy to prepare.

It is good to bear in mind, before preparing the dish that, although most sausages have a very poor nutritional contribution, not all varieties are prepared with the same ingredients.

As has been said, the product generally contains less protein than pork and much more fat. But there are certain brands that do offer a food with a higher nutritional contribution. It is good to choose these sausages when preparing the dish, especially in order to always try to maintain a diet as healthy as possible.

What kind of sausages are the best?

There is a wide variety of sausages on the market. In principle, these are differentiated by the type of meat with which they are prepared, as well as by the additional seasonings that they may include. They also vary in thickness and length.

When choosing between one option or another, in the first place it can be varied according to the taste of each cook and diner. There are sausages made from beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and many other combinations. Some contain additional ingredients that give it another type of flavor such as spices, aromatic herbs, smoked or hot.

In the same way, and as mentioned above, it is good to opt for those that maintain the highest possible nutritional contribution. This means avoiding products that have an excessive amount of fat or unnatural elements.

Sausage snacks or chili sausage appetizer

To prepare this snack, the best thing to do is opt for bovine sausages, cocktail type or small ones. You can also take the hot dog sausages and cut them into small pieces.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of oil, 30 ml.
  • ¼ cup of onion, 50 grams and 2 finely chopped chili peppers.
  • 2 cups of sausages cooked and cut into wheels, 400 grams.
  • ¼ cup of lemon juice, 50 grams, and 1 tablespoon of mashed potatoes, 20 grams.
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 20 grams, and hot sauce if you prefer.

Elaboration

First of all, you have to heat the pan over medium heat with the oil and add the onion. Sauté until it begins to look transparent. After that, you have to  include the chili and saute the product. Then add the sausages.

Once the sausages are golden brown, add the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, if desired, as well as the mashed potatoes. Instead of lemon juice, lime juice can be used, with identical results.

Finally, you have to stir the whole set, remove from heat and serve hot.

Sausage snacks: banderilla of sausages and manchego cheese

This snack is a delight for adults and the little ones in the house. Its finish is delicious, in particular, because it combines the flavor of the sausage and the nuance of croquettes.

Ingredients

  • 500 g of cocktail-style sausages and 3 cooked and mashed potatoes.
  • 1 cup of grated Manchego cheese, 200 grams, and 2 beaten eggs.
  • ½ cup of wheat flour and ½ cup of ground bread.
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup and 2 tablespoons mustard.
  • 1 cup of oil and long kitchen chopsticks.

Preparation of sausage snacks

First, the sausages must be cut widthwise and a little cheese placed between both parts. After that, you will have to go through the mixture with the kitchen toothpick, forming a sausage skewer.

Then, in different bowls, you have to place the wheat flour, the mashed potatoes and the breadcrumbs. Then, beat the eggs in another bowl, until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. After that, the sausage skewers are passed through the wheat flour and to finish, it is covered  with the mashed potatoes.

It is important to pass the preparation again through flour, then the beaten egg and finally bread with the ground bread. Then the same procedure is repeated for each flag. Meanwhile,  in a frying pan, heat the oil and fry the banderillas until golden brown.  Transfer them to a plate with absorbent kitchen paper.

Once dry, and to finish, cover it with ketchup and mustard.

Simple and tasty dishes can be prepared using ingredients such as sausages. Sausage snacks are the best example. The most important thing is to be original, choose good accessories, quality pieces, and pay attention to the preparation.
