2 Recipes To Make A Gluten-free Brownie

Preparing a gluten-free brownie is very easy and fast; Therefore, we have decided to share with you a couple of finger-licking recipes. Both preparations will only take between 25 and 30 minutes, so they will definitely be an option for when you want to enjoy a good dessert in a short time.

It should be noted that the star ingredient will be dark chocolate without sugar. Don’t worry though, because your brownies won’t taste bad at all. On the contrary, we will take advantage of other ingredients to add the sweet touch, but without overdoing it.  Remember that milk chocolate is not the only option to make a good brownie.

As for the use of nuts and other dried fruits, these are always recommended in the preparation of all kinds of brownies. The ideal quantity will always be a quarter of the total flour used. In this way, we will make the fruits stand out a little from the dough and not only add flavor but also decorate the dessert.

Gluten-free brownie, the classic recipe

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of sugar (200 g)
  • ¼ vanilla bean
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder (45 g)
  • ½ teaspoon of salt (2.5 g)
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda (9 g)
  • 2 sticks of butter (150 g)
  • ⅓ cup of chopped walnuts (50 g)
  • 1 bar of dark chocolate for dessert, without sugar (150 g)
  • 1 cup of gluten-free rice flour for pastry (200 g)

Preparation

  1. First, we preheat the oven to 170 ºC.
  2. We place the sticks of butter to melt in a bain-marie.
  3. We chop the chocolate as much as we can and add them to the pot with butter. Once all the pieces of dark chocolate have melted, we add the cocoa powder.
  4. We stir so that the three ingredients mix well and add the sugar, little by little.
  5. On the other hand, we crack the eggs in a bowl and proceed to beat them with a fork. Next, we add the eggs to the mixture that we prepared previously and the vanilla bean.
  6. After stirring for a few seconds with enveloping movements, add the flour, salt and bicarbonate.
  7. Then, we grease a baking tray with a little vegetable oil, pour in the brownie batter, add the walnuts and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Once our classic gluten-free brownie is ready, we let it cool at room temperature for 5 minutes and then we can proceed to cut it into small pieces.

Gluten-free brownie, the alternative with banana

Ingredients

  • 1 medium egg
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 bar of unsweetened dark chocolate (150 g)
  • 1 envelope of baker’s yeast (7 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of cassava flour (30 g)
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons of honey (25 or 50 g)
  • Optional: ground cinnamon

Preparation

  1. First, we preheat the oven to 180 ºC.
  2. We peel and chop the bananas. Next, we proceed to process the pulp with the help of a hand mixer.
  3. Besides, we chop the dark chocolate as much as we can and process it together with the banana pulp and the honey.
  4. We break the egg and add it to the mixture. We beat and incorporate, little by little, the flour. The result should be a thick dough with small dark chunks.
  5. We place the mixture in a pot over medium heat and then add the yeast. We mix with slow and enveloping movements. If we wish, we can add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. After a few minutes of cooking, we will notice how the small dark-colored pieces melt and the dough begins to look more and more homogeneous.
  6. Once the dough acquires the desired thickness and texture, we pour it into the brownie molds and bake them for 15 minutes at 200ºC. It should be noted that you can add some banana slices, as a decoration, when pouring the dough into the molds.

Fortunately, more and more gluten-free recipes are emerging every day, so intolerant people can expand their menus without having to make a lot of effort. In addition, these preparations do not lose their good taste at all and even provide greater nutritional value than many dishes we were used to.
